Critical Thinking/Writing
Considering Psychopaths
Be sure to read Jennifer Kahn's article "Can You Call a 9-Year Old a Psychopath?" to answer these questions properly:
1.) Overall, based on the article, what appear to be some of the more common characteristics of whatever a "psychopath" is?
2.) Based on those characteristics, what are the potential problems with psychopaths (as adults)?
3.) Based on those characteristics and those potential problems, is it worth trying to identify "psychopathic" behavior in children? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this "early warning" system of finding and labeling children as potential "psychopaths"?
4.) Overall, in your opinion, can you call a 9-year old like Michael (from the article) a "psychopath"? Why or why not?
Your TOTAL answers should be at least 20 sentences, but divide those sentences among your answers as you see fit. Feel free to write more if you want.
