Case Scenario: A client with an auditory disability (end of intake session) with a bilingual counselor (English is not counselor's the first language)
Therapist: Do you have any questions about our services?
Client: Well, it's nothing personal, but with my hearing problem, it's hard to understand others, and it was a bit more challenging today with you because of your accent. Are there any other counselors available?
Therapist: Thanks for explaining that to me. I understand that and I don't take it personally. I don't want counseling to be challenging for you in that sense. There are no other counselor available right now, but we can put you on the waitlist if you want. Would that work for you?
