Fifteen tobacco plants of the same age and genetic strain were randomly assigned to three groups of five plants each. One group was untreated, one was infected with tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), and one was infected with tobacco ringspot virus (TRSV). After one week, the activity of odiphenol oxidase was determined in each plant. Does infection by either virus affect the activity of this enzyme? The assumptions of parametric tests are met.
