Assume that you work for an organization dedicated to abolishing the death penalty. You believe it to be morally wrong, ineffective as a deterrent to any crime that is currently a capital offense, economically indefensible, and that it results in the execution of innocent individuals and would be opposed by a majority of citizens if they understood these things to be true and that a sufficient punishment short of capital punishment could be imposed on those guilty of what are now capital crimes. Illustrate two different research methods that could be employed to study one or more aspects of the death penalty mentioned above. Briefly indicate how a study using each method might be conducted. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the studies that you recommend.
