Develop a Risk Analysis and Communication Plan
Activity Description
Assume that you are the emergency operations manager for a town on the coast that has oil refineries, seaport facilities, an international airport, and a military base nearby. The approach of a hurricane risks damage to the local infrastructure and transportation facilities as well as contamination from any damage to the oil refinery.
Design a written risk analysis plan and a risk communication plan to prepare the local population and other major stakeholders in the area for the effects of a disaster such as a hurricane. In your report, be sure to address critical issues such as:
- Special considerations due to the major facilities noted
- Interaction of risks to various facilities
- Mutual support
- Methods of communicating concerns
Support your plan with at least five scholarly or professional resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages
