A thin wire of diameter d, specific heat conductivity k and density , p c U moves with velocity U through a furnace of length L. Heat is added to the wire in the furnace at a uniform surface flux . Far away from the inlet of the furnace the wire is at temperature .
Assume that no heat is exchanged with the wire before it enters and after it leaves the furnace. Determine the temperature of the wire leaving the furnace.
