Assignment: First Paper: "DCA" Exercise
Building upon the techniques we developed in class, you will craft three separate prose accounts of a single narrative scene, event, or incident in one of the stories or epics we've encountered. One prose account should describe the scene; one should contextualize the scene; and one should analyze the scene. Each of the three separate prose accounts should be in the ballpark of 350-400 words. You may adopt any style in your writing, and you may draw on your expertise in other scholarly disciplines or cultural vernaculars. You might also consider deploying different approaches or styles between the different accounts. For each, you should take care to utilize thoughtfully composed, grammatically precise and appropriately finished prose. And you should plan to submit your work on printed, stapled, and double-spaced pages.
