Chara Gutierrez, a 58-year-old female client (DOB: 6/12/1966), presents with complaints of fatigue, pain, swelling, and stiffness in her hands, fingers, toes, and feet for the past month. The pain is worse after periods of immobility. The physical exam is normal outside of joint pain and swelling. Lab tests and imaging are ordered to help confirm a diagnosis. Chara returns for a follow-up appointment and is diagnosed with RA based on imaging results. In addition to non-pharmacologic interventions and NSAIDs, the NP considers what pharmacotherapy to prescribe for RA.
