As the name suggest corrective maintenance occurs when there is a work stoppage because of machine breakdown. In this sense maintenance becomes repair work. Cause of Breakdown
The breakdown maintenance strategy can be formulated by analyzing the causes of breakdown. The causes can be:
1. Failure to identify and replace worn out parts .
2. Lack of lubrication
3. Inefficient or neglected cooling systems
4. Indifference towards minor faults
5. Too low or too high voltage
6. Use of sub standard or wrong fuel
7. Indifference towards vibration sound in the systems
