a. As stated in the syllabus, you are guaranteed a minimum grade based on your class ranking. This class ranking is based in part on your class participation and excludes your homework assignments. Using relevant class concepts, please identify and discuss your instructor’s rationale for including class participation while excluding homework assignments from the calculation of your class ranking.
b. Despite the participation incentive scheme described above, only half of the students in this class are fully participating in the class discussions. Please: (a) identify possible reasons for this level of class participation, and (b) suggest constructive ways to improve the amount and quality of class participation.
