Representing Artificial Intelligence (book or fill review)
As Dr. Minsky suggest in his talk about immortality, if you really want to learn about the future you should read science fiction writers. These writers have imagined artificial intelligence for many years. In turn many of these great stories have been made into films. Usually the film is based upon the novel, but they are; nonetheless, two distinct mediums and should not be expected to be identical with each other. The exception here is that both the film and novel 2001: A Space Odyssey was created concurrently by the two British masters, author Arthur C. Clark and, director Stanley Kubrick.
