A swot of Artificial Life will certainly direct on what it means for a complex system to be 'alive'. Moreover, 'A'Life researchers hope that, in creating artificial exits-forms, given time, intelligent behaviour will appear, much like it did in human evolution. Hence, there may be practical functioning of an 'A'Life as per utilisation .In particular, evolutionary operating algorithms (where programming function and measuring tools are evolved to perform a particular task, rather than to exhibit signs of life) are becoming fairly mainstream in "AI".
