Assignment:
Please recommend an idea for a paper that represents a research-worthy, original problem and/or research question derived from the literature about the topic area assigned.
In the idea paper, you will articulate an example of an appropriate graduate-level, research worthy problem, formulated as a research question that will drive your investigation into the published literature on the given topic. Express your idea in the form of a two-page paper using proper APA 6th Edition formatting. Longer papers will not be accepted because being concise and specific is important.
Idea paper required sections:
Introduction and Domain: (about 2-3 paragraphs). This provides the opening to your research and invites the reader into your study. Clearly articulate the domain that relates to the proposed problem. Description of the domain provides a description or setting of the domain as it relates to the proposed problem. This serves as an orientation for the reader.
Purpose Statement: (3-4 sentences). Write a clear purpose statement telling the reader the objective or intent of your research.
Research Worthy Problem: (3-4 sentences). Any reader should be able to read your statement and clearly understand the problem you are trying to solve or research question you are investigating. Your goal is to derive your research problem or question from the literature you have been reading, therefore, it is common to see one or two citations as evidence of the problem being grounded in the literature, included in this paragraph.
Significance or Relevance: (about 3 sentences). State the relevance of the study and how it contributes to the field of study or body of knowledge for this topic. Why does your study matter?
Include a reference list and conform to APA 6th Edition writing guidelines for style and format; double space and use 12 pt. Times Roman font. The suggested lengths presented below serve as a guideline. Less is discouraged and more is acceptable, but the final idea paper should only be two pages not including the title and reference pages.
