• Arrange a tour for your self (and others if you can get a group together) to learn about recycling, sewage or water treatment, or any other type of industry related to this course. After you have gone on the field trip, you need to write a short paper describing what you learned and observed as well as how your tour relates to the course.
• Commonly zoos, aquariums, state and national parks (also some local parks), and some museums (especially Children's Museums and Native American Museums) have exhibits related to conservation or other concepts from class. Visit one of these types of facilities and describe the exhibits you see and how they relate to the course. For example, the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has an exhibit that describes how the people of Appo Island overcame their struggles with overfishing and other harmful fishing practices to restore their reef. The Children's Museum in Indianapolis has an exhibit that discusses the movement of water through the environment.
