Problem
Cesarean Sections in the United States are on the rise and research by the National Partnership for Women and Families reports this is driven in large part by the medical community for the following reasons: C-sections are more convenient and efficient (they can be scheduled during working hours and usually take less time to oversee than a vaginal birth); C-sections are costlier and thus provide hospitals and doctors with more income; the birth process is becoming more medicalized, with more natural forms of childbirth being given a lower priority. What do you think? Are we over-medicalizing the birth process?
