Are humans the most destructive parasite to ever exist on Earth?
When you look at the history of mass extinctions and the theorized causes, it is never the fault of just one species. But when you look at the extinction happening currently, something that the humans have done or changed is almost always the root of the problem. What other species in history has changed the landscape of half the earth's land, rerouted major rivers, or used so much of the available water? The answer is that there isn't another species that has done what humans have. When you look at our effects on the planet, they parallel what a parasite does to it's host. I think in the future, that we will look back at this time and consider humans a deadly parasitic infection on earth's surface.
