Architecture of 8085 Microprocessor
The 8085 microprocessor is an 8 bit general purpose microprocessor. 8 bit processor means it can read write and process 8 bit data at a time. The 8085 microprocessor chip has 40 pins requires +5 V power supply and can operate with a 3MHz clock frequency.
Although the internal architecture of 8085 microprocessor is very complicated the programme is concern only with a small part of it which can be referred in the program or which is important to know to the write a program. The block diagram showing this part is called the programming model of the microprocessor. To understand the basic and important functions of 8085 microprocessor we will concentrate only on the programming model here. The detail architecture of 8085 microprocessor will be discussed later.
