Architecture, Building and Planning:
The Early Modern Era in Europe witnessed substantial waves of interest in ancient Roman and Greek architecture. However, this interest in the classical tradition took a variety of forms, ranging from archaeological (re)interpretation to completely new inventions based on a basic classical vocabulary. Discuss three (3) fully identified monuments (include name, location, architect, and date [within 10 years]) as you consider different interpretations of the classical tradition in Early Modern Europe and why architects and their patrons were so keen to create spaces within that tradition.
