Assignment:
Present a real case (an organisation you have knowledge of from class or from your own research or experience) of an electronic business platform and its supporting supply chain(s). Apply a systems perspective to discuss why it is important to align the supply chain strategy with the design of the electronic business platform, and the benefits and challenges of integrating the operations of the two.
Some questions you may consider are outlined below:
- What product/service type(s) is the electronic business platform designed to sell/serve?
- What are the possible supply chain strategies?
- Why is it necessary to consider the electronic business platform and its supporting supply chain(s) together as a system in management?
- What are the challenges of integration?
- What are the benefits of supply chain internal/external integration?
