Here's the catch: You have 30 days to get to your new assignment and begin your job. For the purposes of this assignment, let's assume you live in Burlington, Vt.
Some parameters:
- Including you, you are moving a family of five with at least one other member being a minor in grade K-8. It's up to you to determine the makeup of your family. The adults you identify in your family structure work and need to find new jobs.
- You have two cars, several expensive antiques and several precious art pieces among your furniture.
- Your pet (dog, cat, bird, ferret, whatever) gets motion sickness.
- Your budget is $8,000, not including two first-class tickets.
Write at least a three-page paper answering the following questions regarding the concepts in this week's reading, relying on the Four Classic Phases of a Project as illustrated on pages 4-5 of the textbook. Use APA format, double spaced.
- Answer the five scenarios below in detail, using the textbook material and one other resources from the Champlain online library.
- Also, build a table to provide a visual breakdown of costs and time elements, including the person(s) responsible for accomplishing tasks.
Scenarios:
- Determine all the separate activities that will need to be done for a successful move.
- Estimate durations on each of the activities and fit them into the 30-day time allowance.
- Anticipate any problems that might occur that would prevent an on time completion.
- What might happen if you were to arrive late?
- Write out a "to-do" list for the day the family and furniture are to leave.
Remember to build a table listing costs and time elements. It will help for future assignments when you include person(s) who will be responsible for accomplishing the task.
