Assignment:

For this assignment you submit a written assignment analyzing the Texas state election process by analyzing a candidate for the November 2020 election. You can choose any candidate you wish as long as it is a state election (this means you cannot choose the presidential race OR anyone running for national office). In the paper you will analyze the following points:

1. Choose a candidate from the 2020 state election (not national election) and give a brief description of who this person is.
2. Name one specific policy supported by that candidate. Explain what that policy is.
3. What was the candidate's party's stance on that policy?
4. Did public opinion affect this policy and how did it have an affect?
5. If so how? If not why not?
6. What interest groups and/or individuals supported this policy?
7. Why did they support this policy?
8. What groups and/or individuals were against this policy and why?

You should write this paper as a word 800 to 1000 word document using standard MLA writing format.
