Problem
First, take a look at Michel Chion's Glossary, which is available on ICollege (For your information, Michel Chion is a composer, teacher, filmmaker, and researcher. Chion is mainly interested in film sound). Focus only on three terms defined by Chion: diegetic sound, non-diegetic sound, and acousmatic. Second, watch Happy Together (Wong Kar-Wai, 1997) via kanopy (the link to film is in our syllabus). Finally, identify and analyze two scenes or sequences that exemplify both diegetic sound as well as non-diegetic sound.
