Homework: Community-Based Programs & Resources for Victims
Battered women's shelters and community abuse/crisis hotlines are two examples of community-based programs that have a long-standing existence. These programs tend to offer short-term services; are staffed by a combination of trained helping professionals and volunteers; operate on a budget dependent on a combination of grant, donation, and state funding; and have a mission of empowerment and resilience-focused support for their clients.
Task (2 to 3 pages):
o Select and describe one community-based programs or resource available for victims in your area.
o Analyze the strengths and limitations of the chosen community-based program or resource.
o Be specific. Use specific examples from your research and the Resources.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
