It is important to remember that the term "control" should not be interpreted negatively- "control" should not imply domination. Control, in the context of management, should be synonymous with monitoring. The intent here should be to receive feedback in a timely and adequate way so that you know how things are progressing. In fact, controlling or monitoring progress also helps you know when to make necessary changes to ensure that everything stays on track.

1) Analyze the evolution of management theory as a framework for future management practice.
2) Distinguish the primary functions and responsibilities of management including practices used to perform them such as aspects of organizing, methods of control, and of workforce motivation.
