1) Describe the key criteria that police officers must meet in order to determine whether using force to make an arrest is legal and what "reasonableness" actually means.
2) Evaluate how free speech rights clash with the rights of others and the need for public order today.
3) Argue for or against the regulation of the First Amendment when it comes to speech that could or might incite "imminent lawless action or conduct."
4) Analyze the defenses within today's criminal law system.
5) Evaluate the fairness of the common law defense of necessity when citizens use deadly force.
