Assignment Aims: To enable a student to critically analyze and evaluate:
Supply chain management and the logistics involved with supply chain management.
The systems that have been developed and the systems evolving in the development of product supply, storage and movement.
The application of supply chain management and the financial application within the differing facets of the motorsport sector.
Assignment Outcomes: On successful completion of this module a student will be able to:
1. Critically evaluate the process of supply chain management as an integral component of their specific industry.
2. Create a logical procurement policy which will meet the needs of a specified facet of their area of study.
3. Plan and implement a materials handling system as an integral component of product distribution.
4. Critically examine and evaluate customers' needs, complaints and responses and formulate a customer service policy as part of a quality management system.
Assignment 1: Logistical elements of a WRC or WEC entry
Assignment Brief: Prepare a 2500 word working management report outlining the logistical elements of the entry of an R5+ car into WRC 2018, or a single car in the WEC, including necessary transport and the requirement for a 10 person team to enter all rounds of the series. Include a movement schedule for a non EU event.
The report should include an outline plan of how and where the car will be built, with timelines and build plan. The plan should include a materials handling policy, including health and safety requirements for components ordered and include a procurement policy for the parts and services.
The report should be word processed and structured with a cover page, contents page, an introduction, the body of work including policies, summary and recommendations. The Movement Schedule can be included in the appendices with any relevant support information collected regarding the assignment.

Assignment 2: Evaluation of Supply Chain in Motorsport
Assignment Brief: Critically evaluate the supply chain for a motor sports team, including the appointment of suppliers through to delivery methods to the end user. The plan should include a Customer services policy which demonstrates that you have considered customers' complaints and your responses.
