Assignment: Interprofessional Teams
Whenever you implement policies or programs, it is important to include the appropriate stakeholders. For this assignment, you will reflect on the public health issue you SELECTED (nutrition, physical, and obesity) and discuss the importance and value of interprofessional teams in addressing the policies and programs related to that issue.
Instructions
For this assignment do the following:
a. Identify the public health issue (nutrition, physical, and obesity )you want to analyze for this assignment and summarize it briefly.
b. Identify the stakeholders involved in your proposed intervention or resolution of the issue for the public health issue you selected. Stakeholders must include people from more than one professional discipline as well as people from the community and the population at risk. They may represent different cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses.
c. Explain why a coalition of multiple interprofessional members would be useful in implementing an intervention. Identify and cite scholarly resources that address the importance of interprofessional team collaboration.
d. Propose a strategy for developing a coalition in the community to begin working on this public health issue.
e. Propose a plan the coalition can use to disseminate health literacy projects to the population at risk that will ultimately influence behaviors and policies.
f. Analyze how the identified stakeholders will be included in the intervention or resolution project (how they will participate).
g. Describe how the interprofessional team will be organized for optimal cohesiveness and effectiveness.
h. Develop a strategy the coalition can use to track behavior and policy changes and measure the effectiveness of the intervention.
