Problem: Introduction to Drug Courts including their goals, how they work, staff necessary, their history, etc. Theory and Drug Courts- A discussion of Criminological Theories that support the premises of Drug Courts. Prior literature on evaluations of drug courts---particularly evaluations of their cost savings compared to traditional approaches as well as their impact on Recidivism compared to traditional approaches. Analysis of Drug Courts in Florida and how they work and how they compare to Drug Courts Around the Country. Discussion of how many drug courts there are in Florida, their staff size, how they are funded, etc. Policy Analysis- Based on the literature and your analysis of drug courts in Florida-- what are your recommendations for how they might be improved?
