Lab Report
Title: Transformers and Inductors
Your report must be no more than 10 pages. Additional information can be put it into Appendix.
Part I. Lab report
Table of Contents
List of each section and page number
Aim:
1. Introduction
2. Design and theory (Methodology)
3. Measurements or simulation/calculation results and discussion
4. Conclusion
5. References
6. Appendix
Aim:
Provide an aim or abstract of the experiment in your own words. No more than two sentences are required for this section.
Brief introduce what you have done and what you have learnt.
1. Introduction
You must give a brief and general introduction on the experiment in your own words. You should explain key points on the different equipment and materials used in the experiment. For example; differences between high frequency and low frequency transformers. This section should contain no more than two paragraphs. If referencing is required, IEEE referencing style must be used (Number of reference inside the sentence [#] and reference description at the end of the report, beginning with name, title, publisher, venue and date).
-Why transformers and electric machines
-Background information about transformers and electric machines
-What you want to do in this work
2. Design and theory (Methodology)
You should provide a simple list of the apparatus and equipment used in the experiments. The laboratory instruction manual can be used for this section.
This section must include the questions and answers to those questions provided in the laboratory manual. Use of figures and equations may help in your answers.
- Problem definitions
- Testing equipment and tools
- Parameters and theory
- Software simulation tools and limitations
3. Measurements or simulation/calculation results and discussion
Place your results into this section. Make sure to label all graphs, tables and figures. This section should explain and comment on the results in detail. If you are using equations you must provide a sample calculation for each equation. Graphs and images may help illustrate your findings.
- Show measurement procedure and measurement set up
- List the findings and parameters
- Show the measurement or simulation and calculation results with explanations
- Talk about reasons for discrepancies
- Analysis of measurement results according to the theory (ex. why Rm>>Rs, Lm>>Ls)
4. Conclusion
Describe what you have done in this work.
