The directors of Uxbridge College have recently decided to harness the pool of talent within the School of Computing to conduct an internal review of how to implement a new improved Management Information System (MIS.) As part of this exercise, you have been approached to investigate the possible data model designs for a new MIS (Management Information System) and produce a written report detailing your findings.
Task 1 : Analysis of Data Modeling and Database Design
1. The directors have stated that the old MIS was developed using the Network Model but have specified the new systems must be developed using the Relational Database Model.
Critically compare the Network and Relational data models and schemas. Within your critical comparison, include why you think the relational model is widely in use today. (P1.1)
2. Three possible database technologies have been identified as options to be used for the implementation of the database system.
