Question 1:
1) The documentary The Corporation (2003) is a left-wing analysis of corporate globalization that portrays the multinational corporations in a negative light.
Your essay should include responses to the following questions:
1a) Summarize the arguments put forward in the documentary. What do they accuse the multinational corporations of being ‘guilty’ of?
1b) Summarize the right-wing defence of corporate globalization. Please include an analysis of J. Bhagwati’s argument and ONE other source that you will need to research yourself.
1c) Once you have summarized the right and left wing view of corporate globalization, write a couple of paragraphs situating yourself within this debate. Consider what your opinion is on at least TWO of the major issues and debates raised, and decide which (if any) of these two views you find most persuasive and why.

Naomi Klein’s No Logo (1999) explores the impact of global brands on culture.
Your essay should include responses to the following questions:
2a) What are the main arguments she raises in Chapters 10 and 16 that you were asked to read?
2b) What is your opinion of Klein’s stance against the proliferation of global brands? Please give at least three reasons for your answer.
2c) Research any ONE MNC that has had either positive or negative cultural impact in your country. Please use peer-reviewed journal articles and newspaper articles to support your argument. Do not use Wikipedia or Blog posts as your marks will be deducted.
