Demonstrate the ability to research scholarly peer-reviewed conflict coaching concepts articles and then critically review said journal articles
Synthesize the concepts, principles, and topic strategies identified by the author of the scholarly journal article

Criteria
Complete a comprehensive mini-research paper on some facet of conflict coaching as noted below. Your paper may be structured in one of the following formats.
A conceptual/theoretical paper suitable for publication in Sullivan University’s Journal of Conflict Management or other comparable journal
An overview of the literature on a topic related to conflict coaching models, strategies, or theories in which you have a particular interest
Although this option is a literature review, not a research proposal, you should approach it by reviewing the literature that addresses a particular question or issue. The question or issue should be clearly defined at the beginning of the paper, and the literature review should lead you to make some definite recommendations regarding the existing state of the research and direction for future research. In other words, the paper must have a clear and succinct purpose statement or thesis statement, which you either support or refute through your academic research. In lieu of an abstract, write a one page Executive Summary.
A research study on the effectiveness of conflict coaching compared to other dispute resolution processes
A topic approved by the instructor - the instructor must approve alternative topics no later than the end of week 2
Process
The body of the paper should be 1500-2500 words and must conform to the APA format. Papers outside the minimum or maximum range, receive a grade of zero. It is easy to write a short paper or fill one up with meaningless rhetoric. This paper should be a clear, concise, and well-synthesized paper with meaningful scholarly content. APA style requirements per Sullivan University policy are required for all written submissions. The page and word count are only taken from the body of the text; that is, word count does not include title page, abstract or reference pages. Abstracts are NOT required for any written project, however you should have:
An APA style title page
An introduction paragraph with your purpose or thesis statement
A discussion section that includes a brief literature review on your selected topic and subsequent discussion that either supports or refutes your hypothesis or purpose statement
A conclusion or summary and recommendations section
You must use An APA style reference page with a minimum of 5 peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles
Use a minimum of 5-7 academic and scholarly journal articles to research your specific topic. Search the articles on either Google Scholar or the Sullivan library online database. Your articles may not come from a general Google search, magazine, or newspaper articles, blogs, or sources like mediate.com or negotiate.com - these mediums are not peer-reviewed.
