Paper instructions:
For this assignment, you are being asked to apply the PCL-R (developed by Hare) to the life and crimes of Ted Bundy. Theodore Robert “Ted” Bundy is one of America’s most notorious serial killers. For a complete assignment, you will be required to do outside research to learn about Bundy’s personal and criminal life, and also about the PCL-R.
Once you have learned about the life and crimes of Ted Bundy, imagine you are an expert witness at the Bundy trial. It is your job to assign a diagnosis. Using the PCL-R as an assessment tool, is Bundy a psychopath? Why/why not? What factors influenced your decision? In your opinion, do you think the PCL-R is a valid and reliable tool for identifying psychopaths? What are its strengths/limitations? Consider the consequences of your diagnosis on Bundy.
Your research may include academic articles, media articles, and other fact-based sources. Please note that you are required to provide a minimum of five outside credible sources. (That excludes course materials, which you can use as supplementary materials.)
Your paper should be no more than 1,250 words long (excluding references). Your tutor-marker will not read or mark anything beyond the first 1,250 words, so if you turn in 1,500 words, the last 250 words will go unread. Provide a word count for your paper on your title page.
