I really look for my direct reports to be ambassadors of their attitudes and ensure they are promoting the attitudes they want their clients to portray. When we do not have leaders within our organizations promoting what we deem appropriate, not only will their employees be impacted but also their performance as well. I have seen negative attitudes impact not only the production, but also impact the amount of claims we receive from government entities. Not promoting a positive work environment can lead to claims of hostility and inequities which can ultimately mean we would spend more money defending them rather than fixing the problem up front.
