Topic: Alternative Approaches to Strategic Management
Task Details: Students are to research and identify three different approaches to Strategic Management, and compare and contrast them, particular focussing on suggested benefits, implementation issues and limitations.
Students should identify at least one organisation where each approach has been implemented, and evaluate the success of the approach. Students should draw some supported conclusions as to the viability of each approach, and present their research, analysis and conclusions in a professionally presented report.
Research requirements Students need to support their analysis with support from the text and a minimum of 10 suitable, reliable, current and academically acceptable sources - this should include at least 4 academic journal articles. Students should demonstrate an understanding of the validity of other sources and the information gained from them, e.g. the information found on a corporate website is only like to present the positive elements. The articles in Section 2.6 above may be used if relevant, but better research marks will be awarded to students who do their own independent relevant research.
Title page, executive summary, table of contents, appropriate headings and sub-headings, recommendations, reference list (Harvard - Anglia style), attachments if relevant. Single spaced, font Times New Roman identify and explain their limitations. This assessment relates to Learning Outcomes a and c.
