Additionally, elected politicians can use influence to help secure funding that aids them in securing campaign promises or addressing emergent voter priorities. This can be achieved by using several tools such as legislative amendments. Legislative amendments allow politicians to make specific changes to the budget bill during the legislative session. Moreover, executive orders can adjust budget spending priorities, it can also reallocate or shift funds to relieve political pressures. Executive orders allow the President and Governors to adjust spending without any legislative approval.
