Many observers of the Darling case, including the Hospital's counsel, saw Dr. Alexander as the more culpable party.
1) Do you therefore think it makes sense that the Hospital was liable at all and, if so, paid a far greater amount in damages?
2) Also, the jury understandably had great sympathy for Pat Darling. But is Dr. Alexander deserving of some sympathy as well? Recall that he was serving as emergency physician on call and did not expressly ask to take on Darling's case.
