Air is contained in a piston-cylinder assembly, initially at 40 psia and 600 R. The air expands in a polytropic process with n = k = 1.4 until the volume is doubled. Modelling the air as an ideal gas with constant specific heats, determine:
1) The final temperature in R and pressure in psia, and
2) The work and heat transfer, each in BTU/lbm of air
