After the resulting reaction was complete back titration

Why was acetyl chloride /ethanol used as source of hydrocholic acid instead of aqueous hydrocholic acid.

A 1.37 gram antacid tablet is added to 25.00 mL of 0.4500 M HCl. After the resulting reaction was complete, back titration required 10.40 mL of 0.1212 M NaOH. Assuming that the tablet contained only calcium carbonate and an inert binder calculate the mass of calcium carbonate and mass percent of calcium carbonate.
