Create a tool for classroom teachers of DAP activities applied to early literacy in a newsletter format. You should use Norton-Meier and Whitmore (2015) and Wien and Halls (2018) as examples of how to construct a newsletter that early childhood teachers could include in their toolkit.

The scope of the newsletter is on DAP literacy, and it should focus on three areas: (i) teaching, (ii) learning, and (iii) development.
Teaching:

The focus here is on the teacher and instructional strategies. Address what you are teaching and how you are teaching it. This component of your newsletter should pertain to DAP literacy activities in compliance with NAEYC standards and demonstrate how teachers can utilize early childhood spaces (both indoors and outdoors) to engage, motivate, and help children thrive academically.

You should construct activities consistent with the following 5 types of instruction.

1. Direct/Explicit Instruction
2. Centers
3. Free Play
4. Small Group Instruction
5. Guided Reading

Learning:

The focus here is on the student and effective learning strategies. Address what the students are experiencing during the instruction and how teachers will know when the instruction is working. Incorporate images and graphics that convey the importance of the environment in learning. These images should align with the text provided about the contextual space in the instruction component required above.

Development:

The focus here is on specific behavioral, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development milestones. For each of the instructional methods (direct instruction, centers, free play, small group, and guided reading) and learning strategies, you should demonstrate the developmental relevance and implications for each teaching-learning combination. Development is complex and multidimensional, so when you present the developmental implications for each teaching-learning approach there should be at least two developmental trajectories or implications presented in the newsletter to align with the teaching-learning approach.
