1. Explore the script of the Actor’s Nightmare with the intent of translating it into a musical (I would personally say it could maybe fit as an Operetta because of its characteristics including some of its comic moments). Using the types and time periods of musical theatre, which form and era would be most appropriate for the production? Why? Use examples from the play to illustrate your choices. (I would say that the most appropriate time for this play would be from 1990 to the present)
2. For your musical production of The Actor’s Nightmare, choose a form of music (jazz, classical, rock, pop, etc.) that you feel would best fit the story. Why did you choose that form? Finally, using three moments from the play, choose specific songs to place in those moments. Discuss your rationale for each choice.
