Assignment task: Students respond to a series of scenarios using an action plan that considers professional, ethical, and Christian perspectives. 

 You are the Leader/Nominated Supervisor of an Early Learning Service.

Please read below scenarios and for each devise an action plan that considers professional, ethical, and Christian perspectives. 1: A parent has bought their 0 - 2 year old child into your service and has told you that they sleep in their sleeping bag, with their dummy and soft cuddly toy.  The parent informs you that they need to be laid on their back and patted to sleep...what would you do?

2: You have a practicum student in your service and they have come to you with a problem. They observed an educator leaning over a child pointing their finger in the child's face and berating them about their behaviour...what would you do?

3: At lunchtime, the educator dropped a child's lunch on the floor and left it there for a few moments before picking it up and giving it to the child and letting them eat it. What would you do?

4: You observe another educator changing a baby's nappy and see them drag the child towards a tap to clean them. The child hits their head and cuts it. What would you do?

5: You are the room leader of the 3-5-year room and you observe the Centre director, and 3 other educators are leaving the premises at least 2-4 times throughout the day for cigarette break on top of their allocated lunch breaks. It is always the same three educators, and they can be gone for up to 30 mins at a time. What would you do?

6: An educator at a centre is an immediate family of one of the owners of the centre. It is known to the other staff and as per the staff records that the educator does not hold or is not working towards the qualification requirements. What would you do?

7: An educator at a centre is an immediate family member of the nominated supervisor. They drive to and from work every day. You work in the same room as the educator and the educator will share information with you about other staff and families at the centre that only the nominated supervisor should know. What would you do?
