The defense of nurses to promote public health is essential to reach all sectors of the population and more specifically vulnerable groups. Through advocacy for sound social policies and evidence-based policies, nurses have linked improvements in social and economic conditions to improving the health of disadvantaged populations and reducing health inequalities with increased physical, emotional, and mental health outcomes. And mental among poor and disadvantaged social groups (Williams et al., 2018) such as older adults. Since its inception, nurses have always been face to face with patients and therefore know in detail the needs of the population and of these vulnerable groups in particular. Therefore, the role of nurses in initiating movements to advocate for these disadvantaged groups at the local level, as well as advocating in regional and national policy forums, is important (McDonald, 2018). Nurses have been and always will be faithful defenders of the well-being and equality of the population with the objective of achieving optimal and equitable health care for all sectors of the population, emphasizing vulnerable groups.
