A several-sample ANOVA procedure, studied in this chapter, is an extension of the two-sample procedure, in that a comparison is made of several independent samples. Repeated measures, not covered in this book, is an extension of the paired procedure, in that a comparison is made of several observations made on each of a group of individuals.
a. If researchers want to compare goats' performances when cued with touch versus point versus gaze versus control, would they use several-sample ANOVA or repeated measures? Explain.
b. Use software to produce side-by-side boxplots of the goats' scores (combining adults and juveniles) and comment on which type of cue seems to help goats the most.
c. Which type of cue seems to help goats the least?
