A proposed combined cycle power plant is shown below a gas

A proposed combined cycle power plant is shown below. A gas turbine engine, the topping cycle, takes air at state 1 (T=300 K, P=100 kPa) and compress it irreversibly (hc=0.87) to state 2. The maximum inlet turbine temperature is 1400 K. The combustor can be modeled as a heat exchanger. An irreversible turbine (ht=0.87) expands the gas to state 4 where the temperature is 780 K. The gas flow splits and enters two separate counter-flow heat exchangers. The gas is cooled to 470 K by the water in the steam cycle in each heat exchanger (states 5 and 5'). The gas then is exhausted through the stack.

The bottoming cycle is a Rankine cycle. Steam exiting the boiler at state 7 has a pressure of 9 MPa and a temperature of 450o C. The (high-pressure) HP turbine exhaust to a pressure of 0.8 MPa (state 8). The steam is then reheated to a temperature of 400o C (state 9). The LP (low-pressure) turbine exhausts (state 10) to a condenser that operates at 10 kPa. The cooling water through the condenser can experience a maximum temperature rise of 14o C. The saturated liquid that leaves the condenser is pumped back into the boiler by the feed-water pump (hp=0.87).

The steam turbine has an isentropic efficiency of 87%. All the heat exchangers are assumed to have a regenerative efficiency of 90% and zero pressure-drop across them. The electric generators are 100% efficient. The output of the gas turbine (topping) cycle generator shall not fall below 30 MW.

Analyze the described cycle (from the 1st and 2nd thermodynamics point view) and report (and present to class) your analysis in detail?
