A body can be expressed as a square 05 m along each edge

 1. A body can be expressed as a square 0.5 m along each edge. There is no current flow across its boundaries . A voltage of +IV is maintained at a point 0.125m to the left of the centre of the body and a voltage of -IV is maintained at a point 0.125m to the right of centre as illustrated below.

a) You have used the programme 'th2d' to solve Laplaces equation is on a square grid. Modify this code to solve the problem described above( use a model of the whole geometry without symmetry constraints), illustrate your result with appropriate plots to show the voltage distribution.

b) The black points on the diagram represent a pair of electrodes. Using your model, compute the voltage difference that would be anticipated across these electrodes. Discuss how you would assess the accuracy of your answer.

c) With justifications for your choice, identify any axes of symmetry or asymmetry in the model and describe in words the conditions you would apply at these boundaries to produce a reduced symmetry model with smaller geometry.

d) Modify your code to produce results for the model you have described in section c) and report the voltage difference obtained by this solution. Comment on your obeservation
