1. A 14-year-old female who was just diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. She lives with her parents and three younger siblings and is very active in community sports.
2. A 45-year-old businessman who routinely travels out of town for work and has a high cholesterol level. His father died at age 56 with heart disease.
3. A 33-year-old obese female who works full-time in a corporate office answering telephones.
4. An 85-year-old female who has a poor appetite, has poor fitting dentures, and is living alone. She has no family members living near her.
For each patient, complete the following:
- Dietary requirements based on their diagnosis or status.
- Education points specific to each of the patient's needs.
- Three individual community service resources appropriate for each individual patient. Include how you would refer the patient to those resources and why you consider them valuable.
- Include a brief summary to highlight the therapeutic communication techniques or considerations you would need to have in order to communicate appropriately with each patient based on their age, gender, or health status. Include this summary as part of your PowerPoint presentation.
