Employment forecasting estimates the numbers and types of people needed to meet organizational objectives. Supply analysis then determines if the numbers and types of people needed are available either externally or internally. The final step in HRP is to balance the required number of employees with those available. If inconsistencies exist, changes in the staffing requirements or firm's strategy may be needed.
