MY ANSWER:
Information System (IS) is a group of components that work together to process data and produce information (Kroenke, 2015). Information systems exist to help people work in a business to achieve the strategies of that business (Kroenke, 2015). In an organization, information system consists of data, hardware, software, telecommunications, people, and procedures. Moreover, information systems have become necessary for serving association function in an international nation. Information systems are present to help people who work in a business realize the purpose, objectives, make better decisions, increase profitability, increase revenues, superior long-term strategic planning, and help make business process more efficient. Information system are not produced for the pure enjoyment of exploring technology (Kroenke, 2015). They are not produced so that the company can be "present" or so to the business can demonstrate it has a social networking presence on the Web. They are not produced because other information systems department thinks it needs to be created, because the company is "declining at the back of technology curve," or for the only cause that "every other business has one" (Kroenke, 2015, p. 12). Businesses at present use information systems to realize six major objectives: Operational excellence, new products, services, business models, customer/supplier intimacy, enhanced decision making, competitive advantage and day-to-day survival.

2.Give your own best definition of information, and explain the difference between data and information.

MY ANSWER:
The term "information" and "data" do not mean the same thing. The term information means the act of informing in regard to knowledge communication (news or facts about a situation, event, or a person). Information is capturing data and knowledge; however, data is the raw material in the production of information. Data is the facts or figures. Information, on the other hand, is facts or conclusions that have meaning within a context. Raw data is rarely meaningful or useful as information. To become information, data is manipulated through tabulation, statistical analysis, or any other operation that leads to greater understanding of a situation.
