* How does anatomy differ from physiology?

I woke up this morning with a pain in my lower left abdomen, located next to my belly button. As the day has progressed the pain is getting worse. I decide to take myself to the emergency room (ER) to see what the problem could be. Once at the ER I describe my symptoms and, using the knowledge that I know, specifically identify where the pain is located as well as what organs could be involved.
Why do I need to know body orientations and direction when talking about the human body?
